Animax welcomes a new Director of Project Management

Please Welcome Giri Shankar, our new Director of Project Management!

Giri brings with him a wealth of experience spanning engineering, product development, manufacturing, and project management. With a Master's in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from the University of Michigan, his journey began at Chrysler, where he contributed to the development of cutting-edge vehicles and technologies.

During his 11-year tenure with Walt Disney World and Walt Disney Imagineering, Giri played a pivotal role in ensuring seamless operations at Disney Parks and Experiences, leading teams and spearheading projects to successful completion. His commitment to excellence is underscored by his certification as a Project Management Professional, reflecting his dedication to delivering projects on time and within budget.

Transitioning into the automotive industry, Giri continued to excel, contributing significantly to Rivian's groundbreaking launch of the first EV pickup truck and serving as the IT PMO Head at IXS Coatings. With a strong personal foundation alongside his wife Madhu and their two sons, Adi and Arvind, Giri brings not only expertise but also a passion for success to our team.

Animax Asia-Pacific Innovation Center Hosts leaders across Wuxi

NEON’s Executive Chairman and Group CEO, Mr. Ron Tan visited the ANIMAX Asia-Pacific R&D Innovation Centre in Wuxi, China on 23 November 2023 and together with the NEON China team, we welcomed Mr. Yang Jianping, Secretary of CPC Working Committee and Director of Administrative Committee of Wuxi Jingkai District and Ms. Maggie Qin, Member of the Party Working Committee, Deputy Director of Management Committee of Jiangsu Wuxi Economic Development Zone, to Get Closer™ to the future of entertainment robotics in our newly minted R&D facility that spans over 366,000 square feet.

A big thank you to the officials from the Wuxi Jingkai District for visiting us and we look forward to the exciting collaborations in the very near future!

Congratulations to Universal Studios Beijing and ANIMAX, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the NEON Group, for being recognised at the Thea Awards 2023 for their exceptional work in media and animatronics in the Jurassic World Adventure – an immersive thrill ride that opened in 2021 at Universal Studios Beijing, China!

The Thea Awards was created by the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) in 1994 and this year marks the 29th year of celebrating excellence for the creation of compelling experiences and themed entertainment approaches to engaging people worldwide.

Animax Debuts New Branding and Animatronic at IAAPA Expo 2021

IAAPA Expo 2021 marked an exciting milestone for Animax! Not only did we host our very first IAAPA booth at this event, we also unveiled a brand-new Animax to the world, with a pristine logo that communicates the dynamism behind the company that has evolved to become a creative robotic entertainment powerhouse behind some of the largest themed experiences and global intellectual properties around the world.

At Booth 1065, we showed audiences the future of Entertainment Robotics through the debut of ATOM, Animax’s IP-agnostic, modular, and scalable humanoid animatronic designed to meet the growing needs of experiential-based entertainment. Programmable to meet all show types, ATOM is powered by ProtoniX, an Animax proprietary animation controls software that seamlessly bridges engineering and art. In addition to making new connections and seeing old friends, we were honored with the IAAPA Brass Ring Award for Best Exhibit!

Creating this show was a giant team effort between our engineering, creative, new business, and project management departments at Animax as well as our partners at Cityneon, MIG, and Simutopia.
